Legacy of Lace- New Arts Project!
After spending months planning my new lace project It was wonderful news to hear I have been successful in my National Lottery Arts Council funding application. The project will involve artist residencies, online activities, creative workshops & a celebratory Lace Arts Trail around Erewash in Derbyshire.
The focus will be the lace manufacturing heritage in, the towns & villages which were shaped by the industry taking inspiration from the people, stories, buildings, lace patterns & lace artefacts. The artists will create new art work which will be exhibited as part of the trail including paintings, bobbin lace, photography & Illustration.
After such a dreadful year I hope to bring something positive to these communities so I will be encouraging people to make art inspired by lace which will be displayed around the trail.
