I practice yoga every week and was curious to learn more about the seven Chakras. Within this series of
paintings I have been studying the seven Chakras and experimenting
with a new painting process. Each Chakra is associated with a colour
and lotus flower symbol with differing amounts of petals. Surrounding the symbol I painted the affirmations associated with the Chakra then applied layers of colour, finishing with a flower painted above the symbol. The flowers
have either grown outside my studio or been gifted to me throughout
the project.
Each 25 x 25cm oil paints on canvas.
